My heart is heavy. We really need to keep the Holy Father in prayer. The threat on his life is very real.

Please also pray for Muslims around the world, that they may turn to God and follow His path of peace.
May the Blessed Mother continue to protect the Successor of St. Peter and shield him from all harm.

A visiting priest left this morning for Rome (he's studying canon law for the Arch of Denver). He made an emotional appeal at Mass yesterday morning, reminding us all of the fallacy of the abuse being heaped on the Pope. One Muslim said all crosses in Rome will be removed.
Fr. Giovanni needs our prayers too -- as do all Catholics in Rome -- as this situation continues to be a true persecution of the Church.

We are praying...I saw that Catholic News Agency and Zenit were down for a bit this afternoon...I had mild panic attack thinking something happened to Pope Benedict...very scary...hopefully they were just down b/c of people wanting information and such

Michele, I've had a similar feeling about our Holy Father as of late. My heart is so concerned for him. May God's will be done, and may his glory be revealed in whatever may come of this time of much misunderstanding.

Tomorrow (Friday) would be an especially important day to pray for the safety of the Holy Father and all in Rome as the Muslims have called for a day of complaining or day of chastisement -- street demonstations that could get very ugly.....
The persecutions have never stopped completely have they?
