Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Dear Friends,
I received the following plea for help from a trusted friend who assured me it is for real. I withheld the family's name because I am not sure I should post it without express permission. Please PM me if you can help and I will give you the contact info. Time is short!
Here is the message:

Two years ago we heard about the crash which took the life of Sebrina's husband. Sebrina is a TORCH mom in Maryland, and she is struggling now to stay in her home with her four daughters. The letter below explains more. There are phone numbers at the bottom if you would like to call anyone involved in helping Sebrina, and an address for the fund if you would like to contribute.

The car which crushed the father's motorcycle in
> September, 2004, took more than his life.
>
> It took security and livelihood from his wife, Sebrina, and
> their four little homeschooled girls, ages 9, 7, 4, and 15
> months.
>
> Now, in an ironic twist of legal wrangling, their home is in
> danger.
>
> Two years after his passing, the court insists Sebrina
> IMMEDIATELY put $37,000 into trust funds for the girls. Her
> only recourse is to sell the modest home she shared with
> Roger; the home which holds the girls' memory of their
> father.
>
> It's difficult to imagine how this faithful widow,
> stretching Social Security supplements across the needs of
> four growing girls, can suddenly come up with $37,000.
>
> And so we're writing to you.
>
> We are her friends and family, members of her homeschool
> support group. We have seen Sebrina's courage as she
> carries the weight of grief for her family and struggles to
> make ends meet. We want to spare her the agony of losing
> the home which still echos with the strength of Roger's
> hearty laugh.
>
> We have until June 30 to raise this money, but our own
> contributions are not enough. We place all our faith in God
> who created man with a persistent and charitable heart and
> pray for your help.
>
> Please give generously to Sebrina and the girls. A fund has
> been established.

You know, I don't know the details and I just can't figure it out myself! Maybe I will call one of the contact people tomorrow. I wonder if it is a family member who is against her homeschooling the children?.

If I can find out more I will post it.
