Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'd appreciate any intervention. My 15 ds has been ill since Wed. He was detoxing with "Fungal Defense", a powerful anti candida formula. He began the "Primal Defense ultra" last week , its a strong probiotic formula. I did not make him change his diet...I just told him to drink more water and try to stay away from sugars. I think he is experiencing a very intense "healing crisis". He has had severe body aches, lethargic, a stiff neck, nausea, and a rash similar to some I have seen on him before have appeared on his arms, legs, face and torso.
I just sent him up to take an epsom salt bath to draw out the toxins and am trying to keep him hydrated.
I also bought an herbal tea to move him. I think that could be the problem as he has not gone the bathroom since Tues ..but he also hasn't eaten much since Tues.

Has anyone experienced a healing crisis that lasted days.

We'll be going to the doctor if things don't start to improve with the measures I'm taking today...I just don't want to foil his healing...although maybe I made it worse with giving him Tylenol...but I think the Belladonna would have supported his immunity.

Any thoughts, anyone?

Tammy,

I had a healing crisis once that lasted quite a few days......it was stimulated by a homeopathic constitutional remedy and included every symptom I have ever had in my life ....pretty miserable

I eventually pulled out of it and took a couple of weeks to pull back to normal....it was pretty miserable (oh, I already said that)

are you doing this under any practitioner care?

I do not blame you for wanting to take him to the doctor......it is scary......but I wonder if the doctor would have ANY idea how to help him?....though, please do not let that prevent you......trust your mom instincts

do you have a homeopathic MD or other MD who is into alternative health that you can turn to? If you could quickly get some homeopathic support for him, I would.

I will pray for you both...........I have no experience with that type of detox, so I do not know what is normal. I would mostly be concerned about prolonged stress on his body of detoxing, including messing with his electrolytes, etc

if you don't mind telling, what was going on with him to have you feel cause for a detox?

sorry I am not much help

Thanks all for the prayers

Chari,

He has had candida issues for some years. His hands have been peeling again lately and he wanted some help to make it stop. I didn't think about this route causing such a detox.

One homeopathic MD I have used in the past for two other dc is 2 /2 hrs away. Our chiroractor is 4hrs away. But...my oldest dd just told me about a holistic health center she saw in the Arlington Catholic Herald /
I looked them up online and they're listed on the Weston A Price Foundation website, too. .... plus its more like a 40 min drive. He is extremely weak and I hope I won't need assistance getting him there.

Tammy, I had a detox period a few years ago to when I tried to eliminate candida. I had the same symptoms you described. I read to drink large quantities or water with lemon (diuretic) and take ascorbic acid to flush the impurities. I did this for over 24 hours and the symptoms were gone.

I would seriously consider a water bag enema if he is not moving his bowels, especially since his body is dumping the toxins. Best to get those out rather than to let them fester in the digestive tract. Have him lay on his left side on the bathroom floor and do a water enema. Most people can do this by themselves. Within a few minutes, he will move his bowels. That will help with the symptoms as well as the Vitamin C and the large doses of water.

HTH,Praying.

I've had plenty of them Tammy due to servere mercury poisoning in my teenage years - they can be horrible. Like fevers - keep the eliminating channels going, skin (your doing that with epson baths), fluids(your doing that) and bowel (try to get that going).

His symptoms are all good signs (sounds strange doesn't it?) he is clearing alot out! If it is too intense for him just halve his doses until the intensity subsides and then slowly build his doses again, you are still allowing to come out but at a pace that is not so worrisome for you!

Rebecca's advise sounds spot on - I've taken that regime before during a detox.

We will remember him in our rosary tonight!

Please keep praying for ds to get relief from headache and neck muscle spasms. We went to a chiropractor Mon...she helped with his most painful complaint..the neck and shoulder spasms and stiffness. He could barely move his head in any direction. Last night his headache worsened and could not rest at all...so we headed to the ER to rule out Meningitis. No meningitis...just from looking at the rash. PHEW! Ran tests and could not say if he had a virus or an allergic reaction. The ER gave him a dose of Vicadin and Fenergan? He slept when we finally got home after 4:30 am...and I could lay down and stop contracting

We went back to chiropractor today and she worked on his cranial bones, spine and muscles. He is still in so much pain, I am afraid he will hyperventilate. I have been trying to get him to do deep abdominal breathing. I am giving him Cal/ Mag (first dose an hr ago)and putting Arnica and ice on neck area. I also am alternating between acetaminaphen and ibuprofen...so far the these separately wouldn't touch the pain.

God is amazingly giving me the strength to go without much sleep...which usually makes me very ill. My poor little ones are constantly being hushed and mom isn't available. I just put my 9 yr dd with my ds to take a break and post for your powerful prayers. I have never seen my ds in so much pain before for this amount of time.

Thanks in advance ..I'm going to check on him and rest horizontally while dh has ds 2 on an errand.

We will remember him today during our different prayers, Tammy - this sort of this is so stressful and if you are like me - a hyperchondriac it can be a very worrying time.

Praying, Tammy. I know *nothing* about "things herbal", but I'm wondering if maybe you should take your ds to some trusted pediatrician or doctor. Did the ER give you any help or recommendations besides ruling out meningitis (and thank God for that!)?

Keeping you all in our prayers.

Kelly, The ER ran a throat culture and some blood work and said it could be viral or an allergic reaction. They were going to send us on our way recommending more fluids...until I reminded the dr why we decided to come in...ds's increasing headache. They gave him a dose of 2 different meds...this knocked him out but the headaches returned full force.

Well, Praise God and thank you all for your prayers because he is up talking and drinking and eating...and not shuddering in pain today. We just came back from day 3 at the chiropractor's and I have been putting Arnica gel on his neck area, icing it, rotating ibuprofen, acetaminophen, and last night Exedrin...I think this helped break the cycle, too. Anyway the extreme pain is subsiding and soon I'll hopefully figure out the rash and other aches and pains (still think he was experiencing a healing crisis and he rushed sloppily through some tummy crunches last week that probably contributed to the neck and head spasming.

Thanks again...I'm wimpy when my dc are in pain an am just so relieved he has some relief now.
