Could I ask a few more prayers for my oldest daughter? She's landed her job -- thanks for your prayers! Her romantic life is looking promising. BUT she's facing a tough last semester at school. UD seniors have to do a thesis on a novel, and spend four days a week in their Senior Novel class. English Dept profs go through a rota to teach this course, and her class seems to have drawn the short straw in the professor they have. She had him last year and didn't hit it off with him, but then yesterday in novels class he read out a piece of her critical writing and -- apparently -- ripped it to shreds. So now she hates him, and is convinced she can't survive his class.
She's got to get through the class and graduate. She cannot get bogged down in her emotions about this guy, however execrable it is to approach student writing that way, however unjust a teacher he may be. So if you could pray for her just to rise above her hurt feelings and anger and go forward to do her best, I would be most grateful.
UD English majors also have another round of comprehensive exams coming up -- on Valentine's Day. The first round was this past Tuesday. So please, prayers for all of them as they study and prepare and go into the exams would be most appreciated.
Finally, in other news, a lady in our parish fell over a couch yesterday, hit her head on the floor, and is in critical condition in the hospital. Our pastor said at Mass last night that she was not expected to live. Please pray for her healing -- whatever form that might take -- and for consolation for her husband, who is in poor health himself.
UPDATES: The lady who fell died Monday evening around 6 p.m. Thank you for your prayers for her; please pray for the repose of her soul and the consolation of her family.
ALSO, please pray for the repose of the soul of a young father in our parish who was killed in a freak paintball (!) accident the other night. His son was in my First Communion class a couple of years ago, and they were a very lovely, faithful little family. Please pray for his wife and son as they try to come to terms with this sudden and tragic loss. (Rough week in our parish . . . everyone is just stunned by these freak accidents. We are a small, close-knit parish, and when one suffers, everyone does).
Thanks so much. Praying for all of you.
Sally

Thank you all so much! Last time I talked to my daughter she was much more together and calm, and I'm sure your prayers have much to do with that.
The lady who fell continues in critical condition, and at Mass yesterday Fr. said that doctors were not expecting her to live. Please continue to hold her and her family in prayer.
Thank you!
Sally

An update on the lady who fell:
She was being removed from life support this morning. Please pray for a holy and peaceful death, for the repose of her soul, and for the consolation of all her family.
Thank you.
Sally
