Some of you might know Indiana homeschooler, Lisa Tobin. She is battling a rare reoccurrence of breast cancer and just started chemo last week after several weeks of radiation. I just got word that she is in ICU and needing emergency abdominal surgery at 9am for colitis. Apparently she is septic. This is not a good thing when one is on chemo and her system is already so fragile. Please pray....Lisa is one of my dearest friends and I am beside myself I can稚 be there. We are five hours away...  She is married with two older children, one in college and one a senior in high school. To get to know Lisa is to love her. She has worked tirelessly in the past to further homeschooling in the area, she is a quiet and devoted woman of Faith.
I値l update when I can.....thank you so, so much!
Update: Lisa made it thru surgery, which is a very big deal. She's still sedated and on a vent, her BP is a little low, but all seems stable at this point. She is not out of the woods...and I'm sure this raises many questions about future chemo...turning everything over to Our Merciful Lord and Our perfect Mother. Lisa is my first very dear friend to be so ill, and as many have mentioned, it's hard to be far away. I was just texting her from the yarn shop exactly a week ago, picking out yarn and colors...I was determined to knit up a terrific hat in anticipation of her losing her hair. Neither of us realized she would be fighting for her life a week later. Thank you, Friends! 
Update 2/17--I went down to Indy to see Lisa yesterday. She was still on the vent...but today she is off....but still sounds like she is struggling. She痴 still in ICU. I知 texting right now with her daughter. Long, long road...keep praying, and thank you so, so much! I知 glad I got to see her for a very quick visit.
Update2/19--Lisa is off the vent, on O2 just from nasal cannula, stood at the side of the bed just for a bit. I知 waiting to hear the latest from her daughter. Sounds like she is turning the corner  as far as this crisis. I知 sure the next few weeks are going to be very stressful as they come up with a new plan for her treatment. Please continue praying, thanks!!
