My friend and her daughter (Dancing Daughter's friend) were at the Mall in Columbia (MD), today, right where the shooting took place. They got out quickly, and are okay, but they are very shaken by this experience. I'm sure the hundreds of people shopping and dining at our area's most popular mall are also in a kind of mental shock.
Please pray for everyone affected by today's shootings and by all gun violence in the USA.
More importantly, please join me in an ongoing prayer intention for healing in our society. Here in the We Pray to the Lord forum, we can't solve the world's problems, but we know we can pray for healing and hope, and that Our Lord will listen.
Heavenly Father, we commend to you the souls of the victims of today's shooting and victims of violence everywhere. Send forth Your Holy Spirit, we beseech You, to every heart and home, so that all people may learn to love their neighbors, respect life and see the value and dignity of each human being. Grant Your peace to all those affected by violence and give them hope and strength during difficult times.
We ask these things through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
