Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello,

I am asking for some prayers for my husband (and some for me for guidance in how to help him).

He's had a rough year. My MIL passed away almost a year ago unexpectedly at 56 yo; his grandmother has hospice care currently; lots of stress on that side of the family; my dh doesn't fit in at work where the guys talk sports constantly or are bragging about what they can and do buy with their dual incomes (we're a single income family and it's tight so there are budget concerns); our eldest child's special needs take a toll emotionally and financially; and just general parenting/living out one's vocation nowadays is hard work and many times it's hard to see the rewards. He does so much to take care of us, worries a lot, and feels really spent. There's not much time or money for his personal hobbies anymore. All he has is reading time after the kids go to bed.

I know many husbands and wives feel overwhelmed these days so your prayers are truly appreciated.

Praying for you and your husband...I can tell from your post that he is a very caring person. May Our Lord send you both His peace this Advent season!

Praying! Sounds very much like our closest friends, so when I pray for them, I'll try to remember you guys, as well.

Praying through the intercession of St. Joseph for your husband Mareth, and for all those carrying heavy burdens.

A Special Prayer to St. Joseph

O St. Joseph, whose protection is so great, so strong, so prompt before the throne of God, I place in thee all my interests and desires. O St. Joseph, assist me by thy powerful intercession and obtain for me all spiritual blessings through thy foster Son, Jesus Christ Our Lord, so that, having engaged here below thy heavenly power, I may offer thee my thanksgiving and homage.

O St. Joseph, I never weary contemplating thee and Jesus asleep in thine arms. I dare not approach while He reposes near thy heart. Press Him in my name and kiss His fine head for me, and ask Him to return the kiss when I draw my dying breath. Amen

St. Joseph, patron of departing souls, pray for me. (Mention your Request)

Often prayed as a novena.

Last weekend we got an early Christmas present: we found out I am pregnant! God's will and timing all the way as it was a bit of a surprise (no real surprises with nfp, I guess ).

With my last pregnancy, I almost lost my son due to low progesterone at 11 weeks. So this time I was quick to get my blood work done. Mon. was at 25 and Thu. was 17 so I am on progesterone with it falling below 20. Please keep us in your prayers yet again! I am only a few weeks along but hoping and praying all stays well.

This is a big change going from 2 (dd 5.5 with special needs and ds almost 3) to 3 littles. Please pray that God show me how to do this or send me help. I had moderate post-partum depression after my son was born and my large extended family (only 15 mins away) is becoming increasingly a source of stress and not very reliable. The baby is due in late summer when my dh will be very busy at work, too. He's trying not to freak out. Yeah, me too.

But I want you to know that your prayers are so helpful. God has really put on my heart for a long time now to simplify our possessions, time, habits, etc. Well, I can't keep avoiding His call. Dh and I have been reading to each other from some books from the library about forms of minimalist living and decreasing consumerism. It's been really striking a chord with us. We're seeing things differently and it's just amazing how God is bringing us peace and releasing us from too much comparison. (Most notably the book, The Joy of Less by Francine Jay) Things are falling into place that I never thought were related but long story short my dh is feeling more where he belongs with his efforts and vocation and career. Funny how God connects all the dots for us.

Thank you!!
