A dear friend rec'd news today that her 4 yr old grandson, Rudy, has a congenital cyst at the base of his brain. It's benign but has developed "fingers" so it's causing symptoms. There are 2 options for surgery but obviously with the brain, very risky.
As she arrived home from the hospital this evening, she rec'd a phone call that one of their other son's 5 yr old son, Andrew, that was just adopted from Russia was hit by a car and being care flighted with head trauma, collapsed lung and broken leg. They are 1,500 miles away so they can't be with them.
If you could please lift them up in prayer, I know it would be appreciated.
*UPDATE* 8/12 The boy struck by the car has been through surgery and has awakened, moved his eyes etc. so all signs seem to be that he will be ok.
The news for the 4 year old is not as encouraging. They are going to a different hospital today for another opinion. They may even try to contact St. Jude's. Although it's not cancer, as it grows it could be fatal however again, any surgery attempts are very risky.
*UPDATE* 10/8 The boy struck by the car has been through rehab and is now home although in a wheelchair. It doesn't appear there will be permanent damage (physically or mentally) but cont'd prayers for the family is appreciated.
Her other grandson is traveling to Boston from TX to have surgery next week on 10/16. They've found a surgeon that has given them hope that he can successfully operate. I know they would so appreciate many prayers to cover their anxious hearts leading up to this time and for the dr's hands to perform God's will. So far, things have fallen into place such as ins settlement, housing, hope etc. that makes this seem such a gracious answers to prayers up to this point.

Glad to hear the news is promising for the five-year-old. Sorry to hear that things are not looking good for the four-year-old. Will continue prayers for both.
