Please pray for Betty. She is a dear friend of my mother-in-law and of our entire family. In recent years she has struggled with dementia, and now is faced with a host of illnesses and conditions that are serious. En route to an out of town hospital last Friday, she had a heart attack, which means she's now too ill for her other conditions to be treated.

Please pray for her, that God's will may be done, and for her children and grandchildren at this difficult time.

Update:

Betty passed away last night. Her systemic infection could not be treated.

She was one of the world's unsung heroines, a Navy widow who took her young grandchildren to raise and shared her house and her resources with them until she died. She worked with troubled teens at a local high school and she was everyone's third grandmother. I know my kids will miss her as much as I will.

Thank you for your prayers for Betty. Her family has asked me to pass along their thanks to you.
