Dear ladies will you please offer a prayer for the repose of the soul of my dad John Everett. In our little corner of the world he was a giant and my family, friends and pro-life community here will never be the same.
We are having the Rosary tonight and the Mass of Christian Burial tomorrow.
His illness and constant suffering has been a difficult cross for us all, but at the same time it was a blessing to have had this time with such a wonderful man. The little gifts from God over the last week, when I saw a glimpse of the man he was, are moments I will never forget. To be with him, holding his hand when he drew his final breath was amazing - a feeling I never would have thought possible.
Please pray too for my mother. They were married 42 years. Also too for the grandchildren. The oldest (my 9 year old dd) to the youngest (my sister's 1st child who is 3 weeks old). It is such a loss for them - those who knew and loved him as their Papa and those who will not know him on this earth.
I know your prayers will bring us comfort.
Blessings to you all and if you parents are still living, please call them tonight and tell them you love them.

Prayers for you all Suz... he sounds like a wonderful father, grandfather and man. May our Lord and our Lady continue to wrap you in love...
May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Dear Suz,
I have been praying for your father. My mother is a sidewalk counselor for the CPLC of Dallas and knew him well. I took training classes at the White Rose in 1994 and counseled their for a year before I had my oldest daughter. Your father was a wonderful, loving, Christ-filled man and such a huge figure in the lives of all moms and babies in crisis pregnancies.
I will pray for your mom, your sisters and all the grandkids during this difficult time.

Dear Suz,
Thank you for giving us the chance to pray for the soul of your dear father. It warms my heart to hear your words of love and admiration.
Eternal rest Grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him.

Thank you so much, dear ladies.
I never thought I would say this, but the Rosary and Mass were beautiful!!! There was standing room only in our church that seats 750 people. There was such a sense of joy and celebration of my dad's life - though definitely cut short at 64 years old.
We processed into church to the Litany of Saints with handbells. Beautiful! We walked through the drawn swords of the Knights of Columbus Color Guard and I could imagine these saints and all the angels of the babies my dad helped save greeting him in Heaven.
Our pastor did an excellent job of speaking simply (honoring my mom's request not to eulogize) about his friend and friend to so many. There were seven other priests and a deacon concelebrating. My 9yo dd read the Responsorial Psalm and did a beautiful job. She obviously has some of her Papa in her to be able to stand in front of all those people and put on a huge smile!
If I may ask for more prayers...we're driving down to a samll family cemetary today for the burial. Please pray for a safe journey.
Thank you for your prayers and for letting me share some of my thoughts about my dear dad.
Blessings,
Suzannah
