Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Dh and my four older girls were at our church tonight for the annual Father-Daughter Dance. Unfortunately, the evening ended sadly. An older single woman, who is a very active parishioner, was leaving Holy Hour and went into cardiac arrest. Our pastor was able to reach her before the ambulance took her to the hospital, but things did not look very good, according to one dad who was outside with the ambulance.

This is a very prayerful woman. She attends just about every Holy Hour that our pastor holds--normally four days each week. She also takes care of our altar linens and helps with sacristy duties.

Please pray for Margaret.

I'm so sorry. Eternal rest grant unto Margaret O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her.

Love,

I've been thinking about Margaret all day. It is so sad that she is gone. But what a beautiful way to go. She was (seemingly) healthy and active up to the day she died. She spent much of her time in prayer and serving our parish community. And she spent her last hour on earth before our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. May we all be so blessed!

Although I didn't know her, I was thinking and praying for in Mass, thinking the same as you...what a way to go!

We just lost our long-time sacristan this past month. Today at the 10:30 Mass they ran out of hosts -- I know this would have never happened if she were still in charge. I've never seen it happen before in all the 20 years in this parish.

I just have to add a beautiful thing I learned today about Margaret. She had a great devotion to St. Louis de Montfort . . . and she died on his feast day!

Praying for her soul or the next needy soul in Purgatory.
No doubt Margaret died with the Blessed Mother at her side, too.
