Dear friends,
Each year at this time (and in late fall as well) I come to you asking for prayers for my dancing daughter and her fellow Irish step dancers. That time is here once again.
Our specific intentions are:
Please pray that our injured and ill dancers heal quickly and that no other dancers are injured or become ill.
Please pray for good weather on February 24 and 25 in Frederick, Maryland. If it snows hard, the one-and-only performance company show will be cancelled. We don't want that to happen, as the show is nearly sold out and we don't want to disappoint so many people!
Please pray that our dancers will be able to cope with not only the late February performance company show, but also with a two-week whirlwind of performances in March, and the beginning of competition season in early April. (See above note re: injured and ill dancers.)
One of the joys of being involved with Irish dance is that Dancing Daughter is able to bring happiness to residents of retirement communities, senior center program participants, schoolchildren and the local community via our St. Patrick's Day parade. Watching the seniors smile and clap along with the music, listening to children ask about the dance steps and hard shoes, and seeing people turn out to celebrate a beloved saint's feast day - wow, how many people are as fortunate as we are?
The hard part is worrying about illnesses and injuries, and I ask for your prayers for my daughter and her fellow dancers as they begin a month of performances for people from every walk of life.
Thank you so much!

Oh, I wish we could see your daughter dance one day, Nancy! If you're ever in our neck of the woods, do let us know! I just imagine it is so lively and engaging!! We'll take you horseback riding if your daughter will teach us a few Irish dance steps!
Of course we will pray for the health and success of the dancers!
