Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Please keep us in prayer while we attend an Intensive Aphasia Program with my mil, who had a stroke in Nov., and for various health issues for mil, as well as various family members serving as caregivers. We will soon be having to make important decisions about mil's longterm living arrangements, depending on various outcomes of her therapy program, so many prayers for wisdom and discernment are also needed. She really wants to stay in her own home, which is a two hour roundtrip from nearest family members' homes. Special prayers for our dc whenever we have to be away would be deeply appreciated (well-honed habits and homeschool practices that have stood the test of time are a saving grace during times like these, but a mother worries nonetheless). Praying for all the intentions each and every one of you hold dear in your hearts! When we have a break from caring for mil I come here and pray for all of you and have a little respite from the hectic pace of juggling households!

Just wanted to stop by and ask for additional prayer for several of the people attending the Aphasia porgram with dear mil. Most are men, whose wives and families have been deeply impacted by their loved one's stroke. One man, from Sydney Australia, has a wife and five daughters ~ he went from being a very active, dynamic individual to being able to communicate mainly with gestures, with little to no speech. It's very sobering to see how dramatically so many lives are changed by stroke. The families we are encountering are profoundly effected and could use many prayers. If we are totally exhausted from dealing with mil's less severe stroke and the resulting aphasia, these dear souls must be struggling much, much more.
