Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

The poor guy was playing around with his 3yo brother last night. He had a ruler in his mouth and his brother pushed into him shoving it in further. He had some bleeding immediately, but not much; a rough night of pain and this morning just couldn't swallow.

I'm praying his pediatrician can look furhter down his mouth than I could and assess it is not that serious.

Now I'm just waiting to hear from dh

Mid day Update:

Thank you for your prayers this morning . My dh and ds are on their way home. The doctor said he did have to wounds: one on the left side of the roof but the second one was deeper down his troat. No infection and he could see white cells working already.

Wow Alecia...little boys are nerve reckoning . He is not to have solids or acidic beverages too. Poor little guys He did give him an antibiotic just in case, but mentioned that mouth wounds tend to heal very quickly.

Thank you Lord, Just waiting to for him to cuddle for as long as he needs.

Oh, no. Praying that it is not serious and the pediatrician can help you out, and for you all.

Praying. Our 3 yo boy fell face first on his tooth brush just a few weeks ago and poked a HOLE through his mouth into the space between his throat and jaw bone! I am not exaggerating that it was a hole. The doctor was quite shocked and thought he would need stitches, but called an ENT to verify. The ENT said there was nothing in that space (veins, arteries, anything fatal), so to let the wound heal and keep him off solid foods until it healed. We were surprised, but the next morning the wound had sealed itself and started healing. 4 days without solids. The first 24 hours he could not swallow.
Will keep praying!

Glad it went well. Ours 3 yo had antibiotics as well for 10 days. We made many shakes for him, including potato soup shakes to give him something more substantive. Certainly, not his favorite and he lost 2 lbs, but we still had to remind him not to jump and run, etc. Blessings,Alecia

I am so relieved to hear your little one is okay!! And now that he is okay, I will pass on a story.

One of my friends had a cousin who was drinking out of a straw while walking and he fell (it was at a McDonald's.) The straw perforated the back of his throat, with some arterial involvement. He would have died if they hadn't been right next to a hospital.

This is one story all my boys know and the "moral": don't drink with a straw while walking. (We will addend this to add rulers and toothbrushes- that's scary!) Such crazy accidents!

WIth four boys in the house, my mantra has often been “Every day is a near-miss ER day!!!” Lord, keep these boys safe!!! (my other often repeated words of prayer! )
So glad your fella is okay, that can all be rather serious.
