(taken partially from my blog post)I started off this school year with the best of intentions. Dutifully snapping pictures of our projects and adventures to chronicle our year. Planning to share all these discoveries on my blog. We have been having a wonderful time. We love being together (even when we'd rather not even look at each other...) and I can't imagine being anywhere else. The girls are growing so close! And I feel like we are growing closer to God, too.
Reality:
It just seems, though, that as we get closer to where we should be, that the difficulties continue to multiply. I don't want to depress you with the details... It's just that when we made the decision to move we thought it was a very financially sound one. My husband was getting a "promotion," and we were moving to the country (which has to be cheaper than life in the city, right?). We have faced so many calamities since moving here. We were really better off in every way when we lived in the city.
But it is what it is. So, we are praying as is everything depends on God and working as if everything depends on us. I've been brainstorming for months on some way I could increase our income without sacrificing my children to our deplorable public school system. I was at a loss. Then one day I took an anniversary gift I had made to some dear friends back in the city.
They loved it so much that my friend has commissioned eight more such gifts! She has pushed and pushed and inspired and pushed me into believing that I can sell these - and that other people would actually buy them. So I have been spending most of my spare minutes honing my new craft and getting better. It's gotten to the point that even my husband finally admitted that he loved what I was creating. I actually blushed. If you knew my husband and what a cynical person he is (he will be the first to tell you that), you would know that he's not one to hand out any compliments.
Now my husband is excited and pushing me, too. So, I am mustering up the courage to offer my creations in the public market. I'm busily working out the details and accumulating inventory (and keeping house, and homeschooling - so there isn't much time for anything these days). Come January, I will be opening an etsy shop. I haven't set an exact date, but it will be sometime in January (and now that I've posted this, I have to do it, right?). I will give out all the details as the time gets closer.
All this to say that I'd be ever so grateful if you could pray for us during this time!

I started my shop almost a year ago, on the Feast of the Presentation. So I know all of the roller coaster emotions that you are going trough!
