Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello Ladies. I posted a short while ago about my dh's employment woes..and I am here again asking for some prayer support. He is such a wonderful father and husband. He just can't seem to get a break in the employment end of things. He is very bright, eager, hard-working, but has difficulty with discernment sometimes. I don't really know how to describe it, and I don't want to imply that I don't have faith in him. He tries so hard, and if it were me in charge of doling out rewards for effort...he'd be getting straight A's. However......I am not.

He made some errors in judgement as a young man. He was never taught by his parents about planning for the future, or about how to manage money. That said, he is not frivolous and he isn't starry-eyed either. His ship just refuses to come in. He has a Masters in Philosophy from Columbia.... he taught English in public school for about ten years and has had an odd assortment of sales positions. The sales positions are such an odd choice for him, too. He doesn't fit the personality profile AT ALL. He is good at it, but it costs him a great deal.

He's had a resume out for a few months and nothing is coming of it. He's 46 and reallllly down on himself. Besides the Philosophy degree and Teaching Certificate, he has no trade or real skills. He sees no future in pursuing teaching or the Philosophy Degree. What he has been doing is working with a couple of partners developing a Security Systems business. It has just used him up for the last 5 years. It has taken every waking moment and ounce of creativity and energy and is just NOT going to pay the bills. What's more, he does all the installing and he is not as young as he used to be. After each install, his knees and shoulders are in a great deal of pain. I just don't even know how to help.....

So, I'd like to ask for prayers for him and prayers for me as to how to best help him through this. I have a tendency to be rather selfish when he shuts down on me. I want to retreat and I know that is the wrong thing to do.

Thanks Ladies.

Kathleen
