Can I ask for some prayers for an important decision that my husband and I need to make?
Just when we had decided that we would not allow our ds(14) to return to ps next year and that he would homeschool again instead, we found out that the Catholic high school which has been in the planning stages for a few years is actually opening this Fall.
We now need to re-evaluate our plans. We were looking forward to this high school, although as with any new venture there are some uncertainties. We will find a way to handle the expense and travel if that seems the right thing to do. There are just so many issues with this child that it is very hard to know what is best for him.
could you also pray for the school, St. Michael the Archangel High School? They are still trying to fill teaching positions and don't have a principal yet. This school really will fill a void in our area, as there are no other alternatives besides ps if you can't homeschool.
Thanks so much!

Molly,
How far will it be from you? We were supposed to get one here but it vanished. I have no good Catholic options without a commute that would kill me. I think God just closes door after door sometimes until there's only one window left...

St. Michael please intercede for Molly and family in this schooling decision. May St. Michael the Archangel High School be blessed.

Elizabeth,
It will be about a 20 minute drive each way. I am hoping that some of the Catholic kids in the neighborhood will choose to go there and thus have some carpool opportunities. Either way, the baby will be 5 months by the time he starts there so it won't be too bad. Besides, I think it may actually help get us more organized, we tend to be a little too relaxed around here in the mornings.
It is not a Diocesan school. It is being organized and funded by the Catholic Business Network. They plan on having daily Mass and seem seriously Catholic.
I thought God had only left one window open and I was ready to use it. Now there's a door as well and I have to go through the process again.

Oh....isn't there a new diocesan school down there too? I don't know anything about the Catholic Business Network. Will the school be large enough to give Charlie sports opportunities?

The school that the diocese is building will be about 40 minutes away, worse because of commuter traffic. And it won't be done for a couple more years I believe. I am not particularly happy about the other diocesan high schools so I don't have high hopes for the new one they are building anyway.
I don't know how the sports will play out. Next year they will only have a 9th and 10th grade, but they are advertising a sports program.

Praying here, Molly.
(Here's an article about the diocesan school. It also mentions St. Michael the Archangel)
