My MIL is having surgery tomorrow, a radical hysterectomy to hopefully remove uterine cancer. She is having the surgery at a hospital about 1.5 hours from here. I've made arrangements for the kids and me to stay at sister's overnight tonight. She lives much closer to the hospital than we do, and she'll then also be able to watch my kids tomorrow.
My husband is working hard, at the very end of a long tax season, and hopes to be with his mother at the hospital sometime over the weekend. He is upset that he won't be able to be there tomorrow.
Anyway, all that to ask for prayers for my MIL's healing, if that is what the Lord wills, for wisdom and compassion for all the medical staff we encounter over the next few days, and for peace of mind for all of us. Thank you!

My MIL's surgery went well yesterday. The doctor seemed positive after the surgery. She believes the cancer has not spread very far into the uterine wall, which is a very good thing in terms of prognosis. We'll know more when the pathology report comes back.
