My dad just found out today that all of his neighbors received a letter stating that he was a convicted sex offender of a child under the age of 11. Of course, this is not true. He is devastated and doesn't know how to handle this. He sent an email to his neighbors explaining that it wasn't true and he has contacted the police so they can look into the matter. Please pray that my dad will be able to find some peace and that his neighbors will have the good sense to investigate things and not just blindly believe this letter. This is such a bizarre situation. I honestly can't even believe that it really happened. Thanks for the prayers.

Oh, how awful. I think, though, that if i got a letter like that about one of my neighbors I would have trouble believing it. I would be more likely to think it was a (terrible) prank. In any case, it would be easy enough to verify.

But still    Praying!

His name is unusual so I doubt there are any other people by that name in his town. I looked on every list online I could find and he wasn't on any of the lists. I think it might be a prank or just some awful mistake. Either way, it is going to be a hard cross for him to bear for awhile. Thanks for your prayers.

Oh, that's just terrible. I'm so sorry. I bet Maria is right, too. Maybe it's a mispelling or a phonetic misspelling of someone on the list? I will pray for him and all of you as you get this straightened out.
