Our 11 year old daughter has an infected secondary molar and is on antibiotics now. Very unusual case because the tooth had a cavity under the gums before it ever errupted. Our dentist explains that every tooth in her head is perfect but that one. Pray for clarity on what to do..either root canal or pull the tooth and move the wisdom tooth forward (orthodontist). We are consolting the orthodontist today and looking for another dentist's second opinion.

Very frustrated as this tooth was filled last month. It was deep and a medicated filling was not put in the cavity. (I am a dental assistant.) I feel like all this could have been avoided somehow since we've been at the dentist 4 times since March.

This tooth has barely erupted and has tiny little nubs for roots so it would be an extensive root canal treatment.
