Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Please pray that my dh does not get Lyme Disease. We are used to dog ticks here(lots of them!), but we went to a nature center yesterday and he picked up a deer tick which we found sunk in this A.M. Please pray he does not get Lyme Disease. We are already dealing with another cold/flu, we ahve had sicknesses for over 10 weeks now, with very little let-up. Oh I pray we don't get this on top of it. Thank you! You are all in my daily prayers.

Jesus, Divine Physician, have mercy on us!

Blessed Mother, please watch over us and intercede for us as our tender and loving Mother!

PRAYERS for your husband's continued health.

Lyme Disease is so common where I live (in New England). It can be very difficult.

As a precaution, would he want to go to the doctor to get the precautionary antibiotic?

Praying for you! Living in NC we deal with ticks a lot. I understand your concern.

I am praying... ticks are a scourge.

I do think, though, that the tick has to be attached for a certain amount of time (24 hours) for transmission of the disease to occur. So we'll keep praying that you caught it in time

ETA: Yep, it's a 24 hour time frame, so it sounds like you might be very low risk if it was under 24 hours.

Praying for you!

... I wouldn't normally jump on the antibiotics bandwagon prematurely (and without good cause), but I do remember a while back there was a concern for my niece potentially being infected with Lyme disease from a tick. If memory serves, she went on an antibiotic for the disease as a "just in case" type response. My understanding is that antibiotics are very effective in treating the disease in the early stages. Just wanted to mention it.

Thank you all for the prayers and info, as well. It's good to know the factor of it taking 24-48 hours for transmission of the disease, the tick had not been in that long. Thank you for that encouraging info!
