Hi Moms~
I started battling MRSA at the end of March 2011. It went away with 1 course of antibiotics and a bunch of natural remedies.
It's back.
I had an allergic reaction to one antibiotic and landed in the ER for not breathing--and the second had really scary side effects that started to manifest...so I am not so keen on the antibiotics right now.
And now my husband has it, too.
This is incredibly stressful. It requires a TON of sanitizing and cleaning, and I am really at the end of my rope.
Within the last 5 months, the Lord has dealt us some terribly heavy and unimaginable crosses...and the latest bout of MRSA seems to be my last straw.
Please pray for my peace. It seems that MRSA flairs up in times of stress--and stressed I have been.
Please pray that this heals and all goes well. I really need a ton of prayer because this greatly affects how well I can parent, teach, and overall--my well-being in general. I need the Lord's peace.

Update 5-21-11
Thank you all for the prayers. I think they have really helped me get through the last couple days.
I am healing better--but this is persistent.
My dh's MRSA infection is getting worse. Please keep praying for him. If you think of it, just offer some prayers our way...thank you all so much!!

Oh Maggie, I am so sorry....as a nurse, I know how scary that can be...and as someone who has multiple antibiotic allergies, it makes it all the more stressful. You poor girl. I will be praying..especially that the Blessed Mother will take you under Her Mantle and protect you and bring you close to Her Son for healing....

Praying for you, Maggie! We went through this with oldest ds, during his first year in college. I hate to say it, but it took months of various treatments for him to get over it. We just had to be vigilant.
It seems the thing that did help most was IV antibiotics, in hospital. Even so, it did flare up a few more times,like you mentioned- probably stress of school for him- but then oral antibiotics were able to manage it.
After 4 years, now, the site of the injury (his shin) is finally looking like it is improving (the skin healed over after a few months, but the dark rednesses and flares continued for some time. It now isn't so dark and he hasn't had any problems with it in at least a year.)
MRSA is one tenacious bug! I'll keep you and your dh in my prayers and for no one else to get it.

I will pray for you. Since I had a bad reaction to antibiotics a year ago, I have been battling allergies to sooo many foods, soaps, and skin creams! It has been a nightmare, so I know what you are going through in that respects. I will pray for you to have strength and perserverence. God bless you.
