Please offer up a prayer for the chairman of my DH's dept. He is very ill. He isn't being very open about the nature of his illness, but it is apparent it is very serious since he has been hospitalized for nearly 2 weeks now. Also, it was obvious he was suffering before he entered the hospital, but all inquiries about his health were met with avoidance. He is such a good man, he suffered so much trying to carry a heavy course load this semester since the dept is so understaffed right now. Please pray for his complete recovery, comfort to his family, and for his peace of mind.
Please also pray for me. I will be taking on 2 of his classes for the rest of the semester. I am obviously very busy at home, so this is going to make things a little insane for a while. I really want to do right by the students. They are woefully behind since he was sick and not able to keep up. I have not taught since '02 except K and 1st grade which is a little different from Calc I  Please pray that I can have clarity, that I can discern exactly what I need to do to prepare these students for Calc II. Some decisions will have to be made in terms of what to cover and what to skip.

Thank you for your prayers My first class went as well as can be expected given my long lay off. The students are being patient about the situation, which is greatly appreciated. Still no word on the chair's condition, all we can do is keep praying.

Thank you for the continued prayers, Angie. I believe that I was very successful taking over the 2 Calc courses. I had to work very hard, but know I gave it all I had. Things got much more intense here at home as my dh ended up taking on the job of temporary chair. Since the chair had been so sick many things had been left undone. They fell on dh who had no idea what needed to be done and who refuses to let anything slide. We both got little sleep. It continues to be very intense for him. His dept is in the middle of moving out of offices into cubicles in order for their space to be renovated. And they continue to be woefully understaffed.
As for the chair, it isn't clear if he is well (he appears to not be) or if he is coming back. We just continue to pray for his recovery. It is a bit of a sticky situation and I feel for dh for having to figure out the best course of action.
All of this as we are getting ready to put our house on the market next week. We need more space. We have had our eye on this one particular home since Oct. We pray that it is still available once our house sells. It was for a time under contract, but just last week went back on the market. We do feel that God is calling us to this house.
