Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

On the whole my husband and I have had a very good and happy marriage. We have been together more than five years.

Last night what should have been a calm discussion escalated to a bad argument and him physically hurting me. I don't know what is going to happen to our family now. I have been a stay at home mom since the start of our marriage so I could take care of the children. We only have one income -my husband works- and one car. For me to leave would be hard. Not just emotionally...but for me to find a new home, car and start working again would take a lot of time and effort. And there would be so many details to work out for the children from custody to school issues.

Right now my husband is staying with another family member. I really don't think we will divorce. It is not something we believe in. At the most we would remain married and live separately. He wants to continue on like nothing happened. I don't know what to do. I'm thinking we may go to therapy.

My heart is aching right now and physically I hurt all over. A part of me wants to forgive him for what happened and to heal from this, but I wonder if it will happen again. Something like this happened once before, but to a lesser degree.

I could use some prayers and encouragement right now. I want what is best for our family and I don't know how to handle this. I can not imagine our family split up. I have felt that I am called to stay at home with my children and to homeschool them, but if we separate I don't see how I could do either. I could go my priest to talk, but I doubt my husband would as his faith is different than mine.

Praying for you and your husband. Please seek the counsel of a faithful priest as one should be able to direct you to further assistance.

My heart is aching for you. Will continue to keep this situation in prayer.

Will pray for you and your family and this very difficult situation. Yes, please seek help from someone you trust as it's hard to see clear when you're in the midst of such struggles.

Praying for you. Please seek out counseling...I don't know what faith your husband follows, but most parishes offer free counseling, and so do most protestant churches. If your husband is willing, this is usually the best option. Support is essential. If he does not agree to it, go yourself.

Praying for you here as well!       I am so sorry that you are bearing this cross! I would strongly encourage you to seek counseling from a good Christian counselor or from your parish priest, even if you have to go alone. Holy Spirit, guide this situation, heal and protect!

I think prayer always helps any situation and I want to say thank you to everyone. It means so much to know that the ladies on this forum pray for each other and their families and intentions.

My husband stayed with a relative last night so we could have quiet time apart to reflect on the situation. We spoke this morning and have decided to go to therapy together to help make our marriage stronger. He has today off work and is coming home now so we can all spend the day together.

I am praying for you both - all day long today, and for many days to come.

I'm sending prayers for wisdom, courage and fortitude for the road ahead! And remembering the children in my prayers, of course!

My prayers continue! I am so relieved that he is willing to see a counselor. May the Holy Spirit guide, heal and work in your marriage in a powerful way.
