My parents were in a car accident this afternoon- hit from behind while stopped at a light. The SUV that hit them (going 50 mph) was totaled, but no one was hurt, just very shaken up.
There was a state trooper waiting at the light who saw the whole accident and was able to provide immediate help.
I am so grateful the Good Lord showed mercy in so many ways to all those involved today. Thanks be to God!

Oh my goodness, Melinda -- I read your first line and my heart sank. I'm sooooo relieved that no one was hurt considering how fast that SUV was going! I can just imagine how relieved you're feeling!
Prayers of thanksgiving that your parents are ok!

Thank you all for your prayers. God did show great mercy. My parents were 6th back in line waiting for the light (five cars ahead of them). My dad just happened to look in the rear view mirror in time to say, "We're going to get-"
In that split second he took his foot off the brake and turned the steering wheel so that on impact their car was pushed forward at an angle and did not crash into the car in front of them.
God's mercy is so vast!

How amazing that a trooper was there and your dad saw just in time! The Holy Spirit and Guardian Angels were definitely at work! Saying prayers of thanksgiving with you that it was not worse, and also praying for the process of fixing cars, aches and pains they are feeling, and for God to continue covering the situation.
