As I walked into Mass this past Sunday I got the best surprise. In front of the altar in all her glory was a beautiful framed picture of.....

OUR LADY OF ALTAGRACIA!!!!!             

I have NEVER seen this picture anywhere other than on these boards and on the web so I was dumbfounded. There were beautiful vases of flowers and vines strung all along the bottom. I know I am surrounded by Dominicans in this area but we have gone to church at this parish for 6 years and have never heard any mention of her feast day.

Needless to say after Mass I asked our Pastor and he laughed and told us that on her feast day a Dominican family had brought her to be blessed and then offered to share her with us!!!! He thought it was so beautiful that he asked if they could leave it through the weekend!!!

I of course quickly went and prayed through her intercession for all of you and your intentions. I thought you'd all want to know about my wonderful surprise!

That is so awesome!! I love it when things like that happen.      I've told myself that if I ever get back to painting (a hobby I had before children), I'll try to paint Our Lady of Altagracia. I am waaay just a beginner so I wouldn't do her justice -- maybe a color-by-number type thing.
