Father Z has great news on his blog. The case for beatification of Settimio Manelli and his wife, Licia Gualandris, parents of 21 children, one of whom founded a religious order, has been opened in Rome. (Father Z says they will be beatified soon...I read the original article in Italian and it looks as though the case has just been opened, so I am praying for it to move along smoothly.)

I just read about this on Air Maria....this is Fr. Stefano’s parents, the founder of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate....they were spiritual children of Padre Pio, and Fr. Stefano was baptized by Padre Pio!!
I love that order....one of our favorites.
