Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am really struggling with the diagnosis of Alopecia (losing my hair). It's been happening for about 10 months now and while I do have some regrowth (I think due to the massive amounts of vitamins I'm taking for it), there is more and more hair coming out everyday (I now have very thin hair and several bald areas, especially right up front).

I am currently doing a 54-day Rosary Novena for this but would appreciate all your prayers, as it is quite upsetting.

I am just praying that it comes back or that I am able to handle the situation with confidence and grace if it does not.

Thank you.

Praying Vanna - this intention is close to my heart as my 12yo also has alopecia. For many reasons we have not done anything medically for it, but were about to try the essential oil blend mentioned in this article If I ever get around to mixing it up for her, I'll let you know if it helps!

I will pray for your 12 yo also. I watched a 20/20 episode not long ago that followed Miss Delaware (who has had Alopecia since she was very young). She is a beautiful young woman who handles herself so confidently and comfortably. I hope I have half her courage and grace.

Thank you.

Dear Vanna,

I will be praying for you. My sister has suffered from alopecia since she wa about 15 years old.

I am currently in the process of growing my hair out for "Locks for Love" in her honor.

If other women are able, I would highly encourage them to consider donating their hair to "Locks for Love" as well.

Peace,
Sara Beatty

There is a treatment with special shampoo, conditioner, a copper peptide spray and a uv light "Rake". It's called the Rake Treatment and my mom got it done at the Beauty school over here for $8. You go once a week for 6-8 weeks and then maintain with once a month. The girls told us everyone who gets it done has amazing results. It even helped cancer patients.

I feel very blessed right now. Since I have decided to be more open about this, I have been flooded with prayers and with so many stories from others who have gone through or are going through this.

Thank you everyone. It means so much.

I'm glad people are praying and opening up! That is so wonderful.

I remember being at an alopecia conference when it was local, and the speaker said something like (I may have the numbers a bit off): "3 percent of the population has some sort of alopecia. So if you are sitting in a full baseball stadium watching a game, look around and realize that 1500 people around you could also have it!" That always stuck with me. Knowing things like that helps my dd not feel so alone.

Sharing the link for the National Alopecia Areata Foundation in case you need it.

*This* is how our heavenly Father works! Vanna, you were quietly urged to open up and ask for strength and prayers from others - and others have responded in kind . These seemingly little works of love are the voice of God. Holy fellowship at it's finest .

Praying for you dear Vanna, you've already shown the grace you pray for!

(I love all you lovely ladies )
