Next Saturday is my son Andrew's wedding. My brother is his photographer and he packed up a lot of very expensive equipment to fedex it to my son's house. Yesterday he waited for the fedex man and had to go to pick up his sons at school. When he got back the package was gone so he assumed that fedex took it. Well, they didn't. It's been stolen. It's ALL his good stuff, impossible to replace in time.
Please pray that somehow it can be returned. The wedding is a week away. My brother is in a terrible state.
Thanks,
Mary Alice in Kansas
Thank you SO much for praying. I was finally able to get a very helpful lady on the phone at Fedex. She went above and beyond for customer service (and I asked for her supervisor and told her so) and actually found the box of equipment and figured out what happened. My brother ordered a ground service pickup but accidentally printed an express service label. The ground service guy can't scan an express barcode to verify the pickup (which is why the first fedex lady we talked to said it had to have been stolen), but thought he'd help by bringing it to his depot. It was about 30 miles away in Saco, Maine, and my brother Joe was able to go there, ensure it was ok, and change the paperwork so that it would definitely be delivered to Andrew's house on Thursday. We are so relieved. Joe, my brother, is especially relieved because last week his van, parked in his own driveway, was horribly vandalized. The windshield was smashed in, the lights were kicked in, and the police believe someone used a knife and carved lines up and down both sides. They had a $300 deductible which took all the extra money they had. He's been feeling jumpy since that happened, and was so afraid that since there was no pickup confirmation of the photo stuff, it could have been stolen by the same people (probably kids) who damaged his van.
The equipment is on its way to Kansas, and we are so thankful. Your prayers are so important!

Oh, how awful.
We will be praying for all involved, through the intercession of St. Anthony and St. Dismas!
May you be filled with abundant peace for the next week.

Oh dear! This is NOT what you need right now. Offering up my Mass tonight for your intention.

Is it possible to rent everything from a camera store if he doesn't find it in time? I rented to shoot a wedding and it didn't cost much at all...
