I have asked for prayers several times for this little girl. She is the foster-daughter, and hopefully soon the adopted daughter, of a friend of mine. Not too long ago she had brain surgery where they replaced a brain plate that had to be removed because of swelling. She's been doing fine until today.
She was taken to the ER when there was more swelling of her brain and she was also very sick. They discovered the swelling was not caused by spinal fluid (which is apparently normal) but by blood. She has been in surgery this afternoon where they will remove the new plate, and try to fix the problem.
Please pray for this little girl named Kyla and her foster parents. It has been a difficult road for them but they are such faith filled people.

We will be praying. My children had wonderful foster mothers before their adoptions were finalized. I have a special place in my heart for these families.

Thank you for your prayers. I talked to my friend, the foster mom last night. The surgery went well and Kyla recovered quickly. My friend said she was up playing very soon after the surgery and only needed Tylenol for pain.
The surgeon found blood both under and over the brain plate, but they weren't able to find an actual cause for it. The assumption is that it was due to the fact that there was spinal fluid leaking, which caused swelling on and off again. That swelling may have caused the bleeding.
My friend said they hope to come home today (she is exhausted)and they are hoping the spinal fluid stops leaking. Otherwise they will have to put in a shunt. So we're still praying, but it is a relief to know she is no longer in critical condition.

I'm back with another prayer request for Kylah. Her foster mom called last night to let me know they were back at the hospital. The doctor suspected that an infection developed in the brain after the last surgery. They will need to go in and replace the new brain plate. Kylah just got the staples out from the last surgery a short time ago.
Kylah and Maliah (her sister) were going to be baptized this afternoon but they have had to postpone that now.
Please pray for healing and please pray for the foster family once again. It's been such a long road. I know God's plan is perfect and he loves this little girl more than we can imagine. I know he is with this foster family, lifting them up during all of this. But it's hard for them to see that sometimes.
Thank you so much. It is a blessing to know so many people who will pray!
