A friend of mine is 31, and he's had heart issues his entire life. This past weekend, though, he hit a critical point, and his best option is a heart transplant.

I think he has always expected it to come to this, but his mother is taking it really hard. His wife is trying to be optimistic while caring for him and their baby daughter.

Please keep him and all of his family in your prayers.

Hi Barbara!

I don't post often but I just had to when I read this post. I wanted to let you know that I am praying for your friend and his whole family!

I especially wanted to write to tell you a positive, uplifting heart transplant story to tell your friend and his family. My son had a heart transplant when he was 3 1/2 months old and he is now three and as healthy as can be. He lives a totally normal life and except for taking a few meds each day he is no different than our other children.

Heart transplant is a scary thing to hear but I just want your friend to know that many, many people go on to live wonderful, long lives. It can be a hard recovery but after that many people do really well!

Again I will continue to pray for your friend and his family! Please keep us posted on his progress!
