Popping in quickly while my little guy Gabe sleeps. He is going to surgery later this morning. He is stable, but they are wondering if he might have ruptured a tiny bit. There is some fluid around the appendix on the ultrasound. They have started IV antibiotics
Please pray for a safe surgery, no rupture, and quick recovery. AND...for Lily's pain during cleaning and turning her pins improves. It is becoming almost impossible to get through without us both dissolving in tears. I am exhausted. Did someone enter me in to some kind of a mom and kid surgery triathalon, without me knowing it?

Gabe is sleeping, did fine with surgery. He did NOT do fine with morphine, broke out in hives all over, needed IV benadryl. Good grief!
Thanks dear friends for the prayers!!! Gabe should go home tomorrow if all goes well.

Gabe’s home. He is sore, moving very slowly, but doing as expected. His pain control is hampered by the fact that he is allergic to Motrin, and that is usually what they treat post op pain with in this surgery....trading off with tylenol. BUT, he is only getting tylenol, and they don’t want to give codeine because it will slow his gut down, and that isn’t good after this surgery. Poor guy.....now I have two kids that are in pain and grumpy. With that all said, I am so thankful he is home, his appendix didn’t rupture, and my husband has the day off!! Maybe I’ll sneak some therapeutic knitting and sewing into the day.
Many, many thanks to all of our prayer warriors out there. May God richly bless you for your thoughtfulness and faith in holding my family in your prayers. I am so grateful!
