My dd was at a sleepover last night when an ear infection we did not know she had caused her eardrum to perforate. Poor dear, she had to call me for a pre-dawn pickup. We went to urgent care today, and they want her to see an ENT. Please pray for her - there is a concern about her hearing, and she has many events scheduled for this week that we will now have to examine on a day-by-day basis.

Her regular doctor says she can't see her eardrum to tell if it's perforated, so we are going after the infection first. The infection has spread to her other ear, too.

In a couple of weeks we'll go back and see if things have improved.

Please pray for her - she has a big dance competition this weekend and hasn't been able to practice at all...

This happened to me when I was away at camp one year. Not only was I away at camp, but that night they had us camp across the lake in tents. I had to be taken by canoe at midnight- 1 a.m. across the lake to the nurse's station and could not see the doctor until the following morning. ( I still remember having the blood scraped off inside my ear. It felt very strange.) My parents didn't even know what was going on until after I had seen the doctor.

If it makes you feel any better, I was fine in the long tern.
