Hello,
I began spotting again yesterday and today and feel uncomfortably crampy tonight. I had an ultrasound scheduled for this Wednesday, but will call in the morning to see what I can or should do. I've never experienced this before and am not quite sure what can even be done. I'm thinking maybe another progesterone shot, but I don't know. I am feeling very emotional and a bit foolish, too, that I had so many concerns and doubts about this pregnancy. :(
5/18 Update We lost this little baby.
I went for an ultrasound yesterday and we could see a tiny, little baby but no heartbeat. My bleeding is increasing and I should expect to pass him or her naturally sometime this week. Seeing the baby on the screen...that was hard for me. I am much more emotional than I thought I would be mostly because I just haven't learned to accept God's blessings joyfully from the very beginning. I've got to be questioning and worried about the dumbest little things. In the middle of the night when all was peaceful and calm and quiet, I did feel joy and excitement and anticipated all that comes with another expected little life.
Thank you for your prayers. I am blessed to be surrounded by very giving and loving Catholic women here and here in my community who are already taking care of me and my family. I am not good at accepting help, but will this week. My children know. We had a sad but also beautiful time around the kitchen table yesterday. They are so open to new life and are already talking about next babies, even if that means adopting some. :) I need to learn from them!
5/20 I miscarried yesterday morning.
I have such an appreciation and sadness for all of you who have lost babies through miscarriage. I didn't know. On Tuesday evening I cleaned and arranged driving for my children for the week. I told my sister that it felt like I was nesting, getting ready to 'birth' this baby. I think I was because everything started early the next morning. This was earlier than I expected and, unfortunately, Cash was at work, two hours away.
I was blessed by two friends who shared with me exactly what could/would happen, so while totally surprised I was mentally prepared. I am very proud of my children. My oldest and third oldest daughters were by my side showing more maturity than imaginable until Cash was able to get home a fews hours later. When the rest of the family awoke and were told what had happened we all had a sad but loving talk, a very tame biology/anatomy lesson and funny little questions by the four year old asking if God drove 'her' to Heaven. :)
I feel very good emotionally and physically this morning. I have promised everyone to continue resting and I will. We were able to keep our tiny, little baby and we plan to bury 'her' in the gardens of Little Flower Haven (a home run by Carmelites) nearby.
Thank you all for your prayers and sticking with all of my posts since I first started spotting way back when. I am praying to accept God's will and to know how he wishes to use me now that I understand this particular sorrow.
Much gratitude and love,

Oh, Erica...I'm just reading your update!
What a consolation Our Lady of Sorrows is at this time. Her sorrowful, but loving gaze and continued Fiat at the Foot of the Cross has been immeasurable comfort to me when I must stand with her offering back my own. May she be a strong yet tender support for you as well, Erica.
Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us!

Erica, I have been thinking of you often and praying for you all. I'm so glad to know your sweet babe and am so sad with you. Please do be gentle with yourself, dear. God knows that you want to participate in only His will...and He surely understands a mother's broken heart . More prayers for you and all who love and will miss your baby.
Love,
