Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Not to be a baby, but I had a thyroid ultrasound yesterday and they show a "large mass" on the right side of my thyroid gland. Who knows what that means. My husband had thyroid cancer, (he is fine now) so I immediately think that. Probably a result of all that water skiing we did in the Potomac years ago near a naval base as kids!! Who knows WHAT was in that water!!

Anyway, I have to have a needle biopsy on the 27th of May. I had one over 25 years ago and WOW, did that hurt. No numbing of anything. I pray they are less barbaric these days. And, prayers that it is nothing serious, or if it is, it can be resolved etc.
Thank you!

Praying, Kim!

I don't know, it always seems those procedures we had so long ago (before or at the beginning of having babies) always seem less bad. Childbearing is pretty high up on the pain scale!

Praying for you, Kim. Thyroid cancer is very slow growing and usually one that can be treated and cured. But I'm praying it will be something benign and easy to take care of! Women do get thyroid cysts fairly commonly.

When my daughter and I have had our biopsies we used emla cream before the procedure. It really numbs up the area. Good luck.

Oh, Kim!!! I read your prayer request several days ago, but I'm just getting a chance to post!

The past two years I have been dealing with an enlarged multi-nodular thyroid that included the not-so-fun needle biopsy. I'm praying for you with much empathy, Kim!!!

Praying for you, Kim. Not to upset you but my dh recently had a needle biopsy and it was not a pleasant expereince. He told the dr. to knock him out next time. The dr. said they can't do that for this procedure.

But I do hope and pray that the test results are nothing to worry about. And I will pray the procedure is not painful this time.
