Remember this post? Well, we've made the decision. We're sending our oldest to a Catholic boarding school. It is transforming him from an I-don't-care-whether-I-make-the-grade kid to a more grown-up person who begs, "Mom, can I please retake the test tomorrow?" when he get an 84% on a math test. He has developed a schedule for himself to complete his school in a timely manner. He's more tolerant of and helpful to his siblings. He completes his chores, because he incorporated them into his schedule. He is more present, more alive, more of a contributor when we do school as a family. It is miraculous.
The only possible glitch ~ and it's a big one ~ is that we don't have the funds to send him.  So right now, we're praying for a miracle for ourselvses.

Oh Tina: I sometimes have fantasies of sending my eldest two to school. A small independent country school where beautiful Dominican nuns teach but it would never happen.
Not just the lack of funds but other reasons. I pray if this is the best thing for your son and your family, and it sounds like it is, then I pray the God will provide the necessary funds for it.
