I ask for prayers as I do research in refuting some pretty "out there" claims of my in-laws' faith. I feel I can't let this one go because it deals with a more major belief, original sin. Some things that are said are just kinda strange, but okay to just let go. But this was a big one that my fil actually brought up in conversation with me, expressing one of the beliefs of their faith. It ended with the agreement that he would show me where things were in the Bible to prove his statements. Well he brought me a list of Bible verses.
I know the answers, but sometimes it is difficult to put it all into the proper words and express it right. Especially when a persons beliefs are so abstract, you don't have a common ground to start on. Their Church is very anti-Catholic, so I'm a little unsure here where to start, but we DO have a pretty good relationship, so that helps. I'm not afraid to discuss faith with them at all. I know God's will will be done, and I will do my best. My intent is just to stand for the Truth with confidence, yet mildness and Christian charity.
I would so appreciate your prayers for wisdom, and guidance in timing and what to say, or what not to say.
