Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

sickness that is.
Hubby is quite sick and pretty worn out, but he has a big job at work and has worked 16 hour days for the last week and it will be continuing. I hope he doesn't have pneumonia.( He says he doesn't have time to get to the doctors)

Mark's double ear infections seem better but now he has the exact same cough as Luke had with his pneumonia--and he is beginning to "look" very sick.

Luke, who had pneumonia, and finished his antibiotics 7 days ago is beginning to cough and act weak and quite ill. He actually asked for a " breathing treatment" today, and then would lay down and rest his "pneumonia"--although now he is holding the opposite side of his chest when he coughs.

We go to the doctors tomorrow afternoon with these two--hopefully one of the big kids will be here with the other littles so that they aren't exposed to anything more at the doctors.

I am just so tired of this and worn out---we all had the swine flu in September and I don't think we have had a healthy week since...

Thank you for all your prayers....

update: 2/24 Well, Luke is doing much better with his ear infection. Mark has not developed pneumonia-I have.... although I think I felt sicker 2 weeks ago with my sinus infection, I just can't seem to do much without out getting short of breath and just plain "whipped"...it could be from coughing all night long.

I have managed to get some schoolwork done-especially our Olympic Lapbook, since the kids were looking so forward to it. I also am just so discouraged because it seems I had just gotten Mark-10-reading, and now there has been so little schooling I am afraid he will just fall behind again---it is so depressing.

Matt-19 seems to have the same as I do, but he won't go to the drs. He needs to work next week 5 hours from home, so hopefully all the sleeping he is doing will help him feel better soon.

Becky moved out this past week into an apartment with ds Patrick. I really miss having her around--- It is so different than when my boys moving into apartments.

Amy continues to struggle with her auto-immune desease which no one can tell us much about, other than they want to start her on a trial experimental drug---my ped (whom is a wonderful homeschooling Catholic mom of many) says NO WAY!--so we are just treading water with poor Amy.

That's our health status in a BIG nutshell.
Spring can't come soon enough for us--although the foot and a half inches of snow between now and tomorrow isn't lifting my spirits.

God Bless you all. All your intentions remain in my prayers and in our daily rosary.

oh, Joann- it is so hard when there is no break between sicknesses. I'm praying spring will bring warmer weather, fewer bugs and a healthy Easter for your family!

Praying Joann,,,do you all have this much illness usually, or has this just been since the flu?

We have never had a sick year like this before, so maybe it does have something to do with the swine flu everyone had in September.
Luke--who had double pneumonia two weeks ago, ( and finished the "big gun" antibiotic 7 days ago) and Mark doesn't quite have pneumonia, but he is starting to sound suspicious. Hubby has an awful cough and sinus stuff--but won't go to the doc.
The others have begun, what the doctor assumes, to be new viral cold.

Maybe the swine flu has caused much more lung issues..

I don't know, I just know it has been a longgggg winter.....

I on the other hand have only "visited" the hospital twice this winter, which may be a good record for me!
