...I was hit by a board last night (not literally, thankfully), but it hurt just the same.
My husband is having doubts of our family's path of home education. I'm left sort of speechless, as he has not expressed his doubts before, or given me any other indication that he may feel contrary to how I feel about keeping our children home.
...please pray for us.

Praying, Chris.
I know this stress. My husband was completely opposed to homeschooling at first-- I prayed and prayed and prayed, knowing that God would not call us to two different visions for our family life. I prayed that God would give my husband a clear idea of how we should go about education so that I could follow his lead and feel peace that I was following God's will, even if I didn't love the school arrangements. I quit badgering my husband constantly about it (because I had spent years trying to convince him that homeschooling was the best option). I left it entirely in God's hands, and I began to research local public schools so that I was well prepared for kindergarten registration.
Then one day about a month before we planned to register my oldest for Kindergarten, my husband came home from work and announced (out of nowhere, it seems) that perhaps we ought to try homeschooling for just one year. And then he gave me one more year... and now he's my biggest champion, and a huge fan of homeschooling. He says we ought to homeschool for as long as it's working for us, and he'll leave that decision up to me.
I really think I needed that journey to remind me that God is in charge (not me!)-- that he does a better job of running my life than I do. (although sometimes I still disagree )
Praying hard for your situation. And are coming your way, too.

Chris,
I've been down this road. It's painful. But seeking and embracing God's will always yields peace. I will be praying for you and your husband that you can seek and embrace His will for your family.
I thought this reflection in Our Mother's Garden of Sorrow on the loss of the homeschooling dream might be helpful and at least give you some things to ponder in prayer during this time!

A heartfelt Thank You to all of you who are praying for us (whether you posted or not ).
My husband supports the idea of taking it "one-year at a time". This sort of has me in a spiral ~ I appreciate is willingness to give this type of support (I'll take what I can get), but I'm afraid it's leaving me feeling as though it is now my job to "measure up" to his expectations of what "school" should look like and what type of results a year should yield. Our view of home education is not equal. (His mother spent 30 years in public instruction, the last 10 or so, as an Elementary School principle ~ this gives you a glimpse of how he sees school). This is not what I want our day-to-day to resemble. If that's what I wanted, I'd just send the lot of them off to the nearest bus stop. Alright, now I'm being snide. I will bathe myself in prayer and reflection. I will not try to convince him that I am right, but rather, leave it up Him, to show us both the way.
Your prayers mean so much...

Praying for you, Chris. I know some moms who have had Masses said for this intention, very powerful. You could just list it as a special intention.

Praying for you. We took it "one year at a time" for our first several years of homeschooling too.
