We saw the GI last week for Ana again. Reminder: Ana has suspected Eosiniphilic Gasteroenteris (aka EGE). She is allergic to many foods and has GI reactions to others. Because of this, she has a limited diet, but she also has EO28 Splash formula to drink.

Sadly, in the last 2 months she gained 1.5 pounds (yay) then lost most of it. Her GI increased her formula to 16 oz per day in addition to regular meals. She is not drinking the formula very well and not eating . If she continues to lose weight, they want to put an NG tube in her nose.   

Please pray that she EATS! That is all I want right now, to avoid the tube.

I am praying very hard for Ana to eat and gain weight. My son had an NG tube for quite a while - no fun at all!!

I remember when my little Mary couldn't suck or eat (she had no sucking or gagging reflex), and had to be tube fed. It was very stressful, and I remember her doctor saying that eating problems are the most stressful for mothers. No kidding!

So, I will pray for you. It DOES become all consuming. After 2 years, she was finally able to suck a little. You will wonder where your strength comes from, but it will come from our prayers.

You will be prayed for in a special way by me, that's for sure. Hang in there. Keep going.

Bridget (Oh, Mary was diagnosed with Pachygyria...less folds in certain parts of the brain...her parts affected eating, speech, muscle tone, joints, and a list of other little things. however, the feeding issues were the most difficult...I feel for you. Will be praying!)

Thanks everyone for the prayers - at this point I am almost ready to just get the tube. I spend so much time and energy trying to convince/coerce/bribe this child to eat that I feel like I get nothing else done.
