We'd sure appreciate any prayers you could offer for my dad today. He's having his repeat PET scan to check on his lymphoma. It's been three months since his treatment ended and his last scan. At that time, there were still nodes. We're praying for complete recovery and remission, because the next round of treatments would be a doozy! Such high levels of radiation that he would actually emit radation for 8 days afterwards. My mom is a bit freaked out by that, understandably. I'm not sure when the doc will have the results, but prayers for peace for my parents today would be terrific. Thanks!

Just an update: the results of the PET scan were mixed. The nodes in his abdomen are gone (yeah!), but nodes have reappeared in his groin. So now he has to have a biopsy to see which strain they are and then begin treatment...again. Mom and Dad are both okay with this--it's very familiar. Thankfully, mixed cell lymphomas are pretty treatable. Apparently, they never go away, and you can spend many years going in and out of treatment. It would just be nice to be done with it! Thank you all for your prayers!
I just wanted to add that you are all in my prayers every day. It's hard to respond to all of the prayer requests, but I read them all and lift you all and your intentions up in prayer daily.

Molly,
I will continue to hold your family up in prayer. You wrote that this was becoming "familiar" to your mom and dad. I suppose it comes down to that. After a while it becomes just something you must accept and learn to deal with. I am glad to have your "experience" in this area to lean on. Right now it is all so new to my mom and dad, but my dad is still corney and cracking jokes so that's a very good sign!!
Blessings,
Laura in Va

Just another update: we received the results of Dad's biopsy today and it is the same strain of lymphoma that he has been battling all long. Good news, really, in the whole scheme of things but it means another uncertain number of weekly treatment until the nodes are gone and then four treatments every three months thereafter. The whole situation has been very discouraging and my Dad is as down as I've ever seen him--quite unlike the eternal optimism that he's known for. Continued prayers are appreciated as always...thanks!

Thank you for updating us, Molly. What a long haul this is for your dad and family. I'm a sprinter personality by nature and can really identify with the struggle of marathon challenges. We're praying for complete healing and peace.
Love,
