It seems the University failed to send out transcripts for dd. Deadlines for graduate schools receiving these are Tuesday. Monday morning dd is going to have to try and straighten all this out - and Monday is the first day of juries - that whole week she is frantically busy between accompanying, orchestra rehearsals and concert and her own juries - and playing for two folks in a concerto competition. She is having to try and rearrange rehearsals so she has 2 hours to sit on the administration and make sure they do their job. (She requested these to be sent over 3 weeks ago and was assured that they would be sent out in 2 days. Most she requested on-line,; one she even hand delivered.
The thought of her not even getting to audition after all her hard work due to the Universities failure to send out transcripts (something we just found out has happened to other students before)is really making me sick. I'm trying to remember that this is minor in the scheme of life and in light of the huge crosses so many are carrying. It is, however, a real injustice to our dd.
Please pray that somehow this can be handled and there is a way to get official transcripts to these graduate schools - basically overnight - so that she is at least considered by her top graduate school choices.
Thanks,
Janet

I will pray- I have done the manuscript scramble before, also.
Asking the guardian angels (and fedex) for a speedy delivery.

Updated to thank you for prayers - please keep them coming that nothing else goes wrong in the next week and that the overnight express ones do actually make it overnight.
Of the 6 transcripts requested - 2 went through. The others, dd overnight expressed today (along with 1 that had already gone out but she didn't know for sure so she paid for it to be overnighted anyways).
Her schedule is really a mess now. Don't know if she will end up eating - or when she will practice for her own juries - but transcripts are sent once again. Hopefully, the PO will actually get the overnight express as promised. We won't believe anything until the University's verify that they have received these.

Janet,
I've been praying, but I couldn't post. Did all her transcripts get there? How did it all settle out? Please tell me she at least had some chicken soup in between her insane schedule of trying to compensate for ineptitude and her juries!!!!
My prayers continue!

Me too and I was coming to post the same questions. How are you all doing, Janet? Our family just had a run in with college application paperwork drama...yikes!
Love,

Thanks guys - very much. It appears that at least her re-sends of transcripts and the second on-line application have gone through.
She made it through the accompanying - but could tell she wasnt' really happy with how she played (of course she is her worst critic)and the person she was accompanying didn't seem upset. So far everything else went fine. I don't think she plans to do any accompanying next semester as she just wants the time to totally focus on her own pieces and auditions. Hopefully she does remember this and doesn't get stressed about money and how in the world she will pay for graduate school. Take one problem at a time.
Her juries are Friday, and please pray for her then. Her final is on Monday. Orchestra rehearsal is Thursday night and I think she is playing for some juries on Friday as well (no time has been set yet) - and praying that they are not scheduled at the same time as her jury. This is the first year that students were not consulted at all about schedule and there are some insanely unreasonable things going on affecting other students (like juries scheduled during their last music theory class kind of stuff and the professors both refusing to budge). It is a long story, but basically there are an awful lot of tempermental egos involved with the students in the middle and the ones to suffer.
As it is dd will have to revamp one piece to remove all the dynamics she added in to make the piece exciting - her professor doesn't like them and it makes the piece dull and bland to dd (and to many of the performing musicians who listened to her pieces in music camps this past summer and made a number of really helpful points which she incorporated) - but this professor gives the grade. Then she will have to re-add this all back in quickly in time for auditions if she is to have any chance to make it into grad school. Things like this are really zapping her energy and dammping her spirit. She is just looking to the day of graduation. Please pray for efficient practice between now and then and a good jury.
I am so sorry to be continually asking for this. In the big scheme of things, this really is minor (and I do keep reminding myself especially as I read and pray for the folks facing surgeries, deaths among family and friends - and so many major, very life altering sufferings). There are so many earth shattering sufferings here and I am so humbled that in the midst of these tragedies of much greater importance, you are praying for this little request as well. Thanks so very much.
Janet
