I know this is a small request compared to others, but we have a difficult task this morning. We realized last might that our family dog had disappeared. The girls do not know yet and we have to tell them. Apparently, while we were gone yesterday morning, someone came into our yard and left the gate open. She was in the house, but I noticed some things in the yard had been moved. My 4yo and I were out a little later and I noticed the rear gate was slightly ajar. I closed it and thought it was strange, but went on with the day. The girls were in and out while I made cranberry sauce and we didn't notice she was gone until later in the evening when my DH was home. He walked to the side yard and the gate was wide open. We have no idea when she diappeared. My Dh, brother and father went looking for her, but it was already dark.
I'm concerened that someone came in our yard and left gates open. We do have a yard service, but they've never left the gate open.
My girls will be devastated. We had the dog before we had children. I'm going to call the pound and see if she was picked up, but I'm not very hopeful.
Please pray that the girls can handle this, I know it's going to be hard. DH is just torn up over how they'll handle the news.

***I went to the city shelter this morning and found her. Apparently, she was picked up last night, about the time everyone was looking,right on our street. Thank you all so much.

Praying Bethany, I still remember a childhood dog I lost this way, so I empathsize and feel for the girls.

Bethany, I know what you are going through. Every year our dogs manage to disappear only to return the next day, usually covered in quills. Praying that you find your dog!

Do you think someone could have purposely taken her?
I will pray she comes back, and I will also pray for your girls, and you and dh.
