Hello,
I haven't been on this forum since mid June when my brother, who had contracted swine flu was put into the hospital and quickly went downhill. He ended up on a ventilator and in a medically induced coma. He had collapsed lungs and needed to be revived more than once. I had written asking for your prayers and found a lot of comfort here.
I am back now to thank you all. It was a long, long journey, but in September my brother was finally released to a rehab facility. He went home on November 4, and is recovering slowly but well.
Most of his doctors felt sure that he would not survive this ordeal, they are considering it to be something of a miracle - thank you so much for your prayers, they meant so much to me!
The worst news is that I have now come down with swine flu (as of yesterday) and I feel pretty scared. So if you could find it in your heart to say a quick prayer for me I would appreciate it!

So glad to hear of this miraculous news considering how bad it sounds like it was. There was a young seminarian here in our diocese who was sick with it as well - ventilator, coma, too. He is finally on the mend as well which is another miracle - as they say that patients who get as sick as he was don't usually make it.
Now offering prayers for you - for peace of mind and quick recovery.

I'm so relieved to hear that your brother improved against all odds! Thanks be to God for that!

Thank you so much for your continued prayers. I feel that I am through the worst of it, but I'm visiting the Dr. today to see about possible bronchitis or sinus infection.

Kerry, that is a fantastic update, and i will be praying hard for you, too.
I came down with swine flu on OCT 18, and still have a cough. It has really been exhausting long term, so take care of yourself! It is very common to end up with pneumonia right after the flu symptoms subside, and hence, the very lingering cough!
