This seems like such a insignificant prayer request, but it is actually causing me a bit of anxiety. Our dear new priest is coming for dinner this Sunday and I am having a serious inferiority complex.  We're just an ordinary, boring family of 11 and I'm so worried he'll leave and say, "Sheeesh! Glad that's over!"
He emailed me this week and said how very much he's looking forward to coming over...talk about pressure. I used to have priests over all the time before we moved, but it's been years now since we've had a priest in the house.
I'm planning on making a Mexican dinner. I thought I'd fore go Italian, as I once made a spaghetti dinner with salad and managed to shake half a bottle of dressing on a priest once! 
Anyway, I would really appreciate any prayers you could send my way, especially in this Year of the Priest, he is an especially precious Father and we are just so blessed to have him!

Sorry, dear, but this made me laugh. I would never call any family of 11 ordinary or boring .
Your menu sounds good - I don't think he's putting on pressure, just really happy that families are inviting him over to get to know him!
I'll be praying that all goes well.

I will pray with sympathy.
Talk about pressure, our priest called me Friday afternoon and was wondering if we were busy that night. I told him no and he said he was 20 minutes away and wanted to know if he could come over for dinner. I told as long as he didn't mind the mess and chaos, that would be fine. He came over and we had a great time. I made fish, baked potatoes and a salad. That's all we had at the time.
Relax, have fun and enjoy his company.

It's the favorite of our children to host a priest. Of course something is always said that I cringe about...but then we laugh it off and the priest sees that we are real people and we find out he's a person too.
