Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Please pray -- my dd just came to us tonight with a tick on her ear, and my dh is having a very hard time getting it all out. I will be calling the doctor in the morning.

Thank you,

antibiotic cream on it.. the treatment for Lyme's is antibiotics so getting the cream on it won't hurt and may help.

I second what Jody said. Two of my dc are tick magnets, and have each been treated for Lyme Disease at least once. I'll be praying for your dd!

Thank you for your prayers! We weren't entirely sure that all of the tick had come out because when my dh tried to remove it, the body broke away from the head. Then, in talking to my dd, it turned out that the tick may have been attached longer than we initially thought, making it closer to the amount of time Lyme would need to be transmitted.

Even with all that the nurse wasn't sure she wanted Katydid to come in. But finally she relented. The doctor checked her ear and said he wasn't sure if all the tick had come out or not either, but that he couldn't feel anything still inside. He decided to treat her with one shot of antiobiotic just to "cover the bases", considering that the time period was fuzzy.

So - much better for our peace of mind!!

Oh good! That is a relief, Angela! Especially considering that antibiotics were administered so quickly! With Lyme's I understand that it's so much better if caught and treated early.

Ugh! Ridiculous ticks!

Glad she's doing okay! I hope this is the end of it and that she experiences no complications.
