We just got a phone call that dh's maternal grandmother has had two small strokes in the past week and is now under full sedation to keep her from seizing. Please pray for her and please pray for his mother (my mil) as she is understandably distraught. She has been caring/watching out for her mother (they live next door to one another) until a stroke earlier this year necessitated care in a rehabilitation facility. They were just looking at moving her back home next week (Oct. 3 or so) following the knee surgery she had on the 15th of this month. It is believed the strokes occurred on the day of the surgery and then again today. She was not very responsive after today's stroke and did not seem to have control on the right side. We live about 3 hours away and dh is in the middle of a week-long examination and cannot take any time off right now. We are simply waiting for further information and praying. I do not know what mil will do if grandma is gone...

Thank you for your prayers! Grandma seems to be improving. They brought her out of sedation the day after the most recent stroke. No word yet on what lasting effect the strokes may have had. We've not been receiving many updates and are assuming no news is good news.
