Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

it's not bad, but i am a bit worried b/c of the rest of the family members. she's had a sore throat, cold and now a fever. 18-yo came home yesterday with a cold and scratchy throat. we cannot afford to get sick -- hubby just had surgery monday and he can NOT get sick :( ... and 18-yo just started college and her homework is already heavy. and of course there's the baby.

tomorrow we're supposed to be at King's Island -- something the kids look forward to every year because it's free tickets from dh's work. and now it looks like only the boys will be going and i have to call around to see if our parent friends can take them instead -- needless to say i get worried when they're not with me, esp. since this is an amusement park with -- yikes roller coasters, etc. 7-yo is crying that she can't go.

we're having a bit of difficulty with the word JOY right now. an ave or two would be appreciated! thanks much!

Definitely, Stef! Praying for your family in empathy as this sounds much like what my children are sharing at the moment! May your children be more selfish with their bug.

Oh, Stef...this is a tough one, especially in light of the fun activities you had planned! I'll pray for all of you and especially your sweet 7yo! Emotions and feelings are so intense for them at that age!

Besides that, I'm praying this doesn't make its way through the family!

Minor or not, these are the things that really challenge me - an Ave and Memorare from us as well.

I am sorry. Illness is rotten and I feel badly for the 7 yr old, that is so hard to understand. I am sorry for you all. I really dislike things like this, you know its not the end of the world, yet it is difficult to get through. Please be assured I will offer prayers for your intentions. Some days it is hard to be the mama

I will pray some Aves for you at adoration. I certainly hope this does not make the rounds of your family.

Thank you so much, everyone. (These days I feel like all I post here is "Please Pray" and "Thank You". You gals are such a blessing!!)

The 7-year old, I'm happy to report, is feelin MUCH, MUCH better this morning. If she doesn't have a fever all day I'll consider taking her to PKI tomorrow even for just a couple of hours.

The 18-yo is also feeling better, though still sniffling a bit.

Yesterday after I posted I was able to shop for cold/flu season arsenal so we're well-stocked and tried a couple of new things last night. The fortifications seem to be working well Hoping it stays that way.

Thank you again!

I was just going to come ask, Stef! I'm so hoping and praying her fever doesn't come back so she can join in tomorrow!

Just seeing this now...
I'll keep praying for you all. We haven't made it to King's Island yet :) The older kids are asking, though.
Sometime you'll have to share your cold/flu season arsenal

God bless,
Christine
