Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Bethany has struggled with constipation for a couple of years and I am afraid she has an impaction and needs medical intervention to get "cleaned out". I'd give all the details, but that is probably way too much information! Please pray that all goes well and she does ok with being examined and, well, violated. She is an very private and sensitive child who is not going to do well with all of this. And please pray for me, too. I seem to have no reserve for anykind of stress and am already crying at the thought of getting everyone to the doctor's office, plus dealing with everything once we are there.
THanks
Jennifer

Poor dear! I can imagine what this is like for both of you--I'll be praying.

Oh, you poor things! One of my siblings has suffered with this all her life, started at a young age. I'll pray for her and peace and calm for you.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. I feel silly, sometimes, asking for prayer for such trivial things when there are more important things out there-but I really feel like your prayers are getting me through. Anyway, the doctor's visit was a waste of time. I won't go into details-but an appointment at this huge military hospital is about a 5 hour ordeal...the doc we saw told us to give her a laxative and come back today if we didn't have results overnight. (They couldn't tell me that over the phone??) So, of course, Bethany had no results and we have to go back this afternoon. The good news is that my inlaws are coming to town this morning and can be here with the other two while I take Bethany in. I need to learn to be thankful for the little things...

Prayers for Bethany - so glad you'll have some help with the other kids.
God bless,
Angela

Here's an update:
Bethany is very constipated, probably impacted. She had an xray done-when I saw all the poop in there I couldn't believe she's not in any pain! So we have a plan to take care of that. The worrisome thing is that constipation can be one of the first symptoms of thyroid problems-the nurse practitioner asked me if her hair was thinning and if her skin was dry. The anwers to both of those are yes-so Bethany had to have blood drawn to check her thyroid and we won't have those results until Monday. AND, she has a heart murmer, which is a new thing. So I'm trying not to worry...

Thanks for the update and know that our prayers continue. I know the feeling of one thing leading to the next...leading to the next...and the worrisome feeling that comes wondering what is next. My you all rest is God's comfort.

Bethany is blessed to have a perceptive and caring mom.

Love,
