Please pray for Maggie and Matthew. For some reason I cannot figure out their blood sugars keep dropping into the 40's.

We keep plying them with sugar candy but they keep going low. It's so weird! It's not even hot here today (which can often cause lows).

Maybe we just need some prayer coverage.

Have you tried giving the fruit juice or juice-based popsicles ... those are loaded with sugar and really help my grad school roommate when he would have really low sugar levels....

Thank you for the prayers --they are working. Hopefully it will hold through the evening.

There's no way to know how much pancreatic function they have left so there are times when their bodies squirt out insulin and I have already injected it into them. Such is the way it is with T1's. It's frustrating in general but it's even more frustrating when they decide to do it in unison like today.   It may seem odd that they would have the same issue at the same time but it happens a lot.

They have even on more than several occasions had the exact same blood sugar number at the same time. Wonder what the odds on something like that are? ;-)    Oh and it's not because they eat the exact same things --because they don't.

Mary --juice is good but neither of them likes juice and when they are low and grumpy a battle is the last thing you want. Those popsicle are loaded with sugar but often also HFCS which does not work well for lows. Glucose works best and I found some candies yesterday that were sucrose and glucose though we usually use Smarties which are sucrose and dextrose.

More than you cared to know I'm sure.
